Help Ukrainian student go to college in the USA
Donation protected
Our super bright, amazing 17-year old Ukrainian exchange student, Herai Mamutov, has had his entire world turned upside down this past year.
In September 2021, Herai came to America (Wisconsin!!) to study as part of the FLEX Program (Future Leaders Exchange). We chose Herai as our host student because he just radiated so much love and light, not to mention he was incredibly motivated, so we wanted to give him the opportunity to study in America by taking him in and making him part of our family!
But what was intended to be only a 9-month stay, turned into a terrible situation for Herai. As you all know, Ukraine has been under siege from Russia for the last year, and it is still very unsafe for him to return home with the ongoing war. He hasn't seen his family in 18 months and counting...not to mention, his family is under daily distress as they continue to remain in Ukraine with a lot of uncertainty as to Herai’s future – and their own...
Herai is an incredibly dedicated student and is currently a Senior at Campbellsport High School -- and the only thing he wants more than the war to end in his country is to be able to continue his studies at college and major in Computer Science.
He has just recently been accepted into the University of Colorado- Boulder and has been applying for numerous scholarships to help ease the burden of the cost. He is also looking to apply to work in the US, but that process may take months. He also doesn’t qualify for financial aid, as he is not a US citizen.
SO....If you are looking for a local way to help support the people of Ukraine PLEASE PLEASE consider supporting this young man as he HOPES to continue to pursue his dreams here in America despite the situation in his home country.
**All donated funds will be used for Herai’s tuition & fees, books & supplies and on campus room/board ONLY**
Scott and I REALLY want to help him in any way that we can but college is very expensive in America, especially out of state, when compared to the cost of university in his home country.
So we are asking for our community’s help in sending him to further his education.
HE DESERVES IT!!
Thank you so very much for considering!
Much Love,
Scott & Lindsay Johnson
