Act locally to help Ukrainian Refugees in Monterey...
A dear friend and his wife are sponsoring two Ukrainian couples, a family of three with a 12-year-old daughter, and two individuals - 9 refugees on their way to Monterey between 8/26 and 9/1. We have secured accommodations in Marina so they can be nearby each other for support and community. We will need to provide them with some financial support for food, rent, transportation, etc. Please help us... it takes a community, and these refugees need us all.
Victor (41), Irada (31), and their 12-year-old daughter Lolita are from Odessa. They have been in Spain at the Red Cross refugee camp, waiting to get the go-ahead to come to Monterey. Victor is a physical education teacher with ten years of experience teaching sports activities in fitness clubs and schools. He also has his truck driver's license. Irada is a permanent makeup artist/cosmetologist and likes to study psychology and astrology in her free time. Lolita just finished 6th grade and loves to read and dance.
Alina (43) is from Kyiv. She has two university degrees in economics and law and used to work for a local building company until she lost her job due to the war.
Artur (31) is from Odessa and waiting in Bulgaria. He is a commercial sailor looking to continue his maritime career and education while learning English.
Oksana (34) and Serhii (43) are from Poltava and waiting in Georgia. Oksana is a meditator and wants to continue her studies and exploration. She loves yoga and speaks multiple languages. She also has a university law degree. Serhii has worked at factories as a mechanic and electrical engineer degree.
Artur (23) and Liubov (18) are from Melitopol; they are waiting in a refugee hostel in the Czech Republic. Liubov was working on her college degree. Artur was working as a barista in the local coffee shop. Russians occupied the city at the beginning of the war. They escaped occupation to the Czech Republic, waiting to get to Monterey.
All hardworking individuals, they look forward to restarting their life away from their war-torn country.
These families need our help. Please donate a lot or a little as it all adds up.
