Help Umberto DiFiore Recover from Heart Surgery

My name is Haralambos Tsivicos and I am raising funds to help my dear friend Umberto DiFiore. I met Umberto several years ago when I was looking for the right person to help me restore my late Grandmother's 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza. I had been to many body shops and nobody was up for the challenge, none of the shops wanted to bother with the detail needed to bring my grandmother's car back to life. I was referred to Umberto and I stopped by the shop and told him my story, how I got the car, how important it was to my grandmother that the car went to me, and that I was committed no matter what to bring the car back to its glory.

Umberto was truly touched by my story and he took on the project and told me he would do whatever he had to do to give the life and love back to my dear grandmother's Monza. The car was in terrible condition and need a TON of work, but even at 80 years old Umberto was up for the challenge. We worked closely together for several months restoring the car, working together to procure the parts we needed from around the Country and even spraying some of the paint together. He put my family first and the legacy of this car first and money second, even though at the time he needed it. He made it his priority to give us a gift of life for what this car meant to us, and he didn't stop until it was done.

When the car was finally finished it brought tears to my mother's eyes to see it. Priceless is an understatement. My grandmother would lovingly call the car "Emma." And when she would start her up she would always say "Giddy Up Emma!" Our final touch was to commemorate this masterpiece we made together to my beautiful grandmother's memory.

Umberto and I became friends during the course of this endeavor and I got to learn a lot about him. What I learned is that he is a very loving, caring, gentle man, that has the proclivity to help someone else even before he helps himself.

Umberto has spent many years giving to others and now he really needs our help. He is recovering from open heart surgery at 82 years old and he is in desperate need of financial assistance to help with his bills, recovery, and survival. He can't work during his recovery and he feels helpless not knowing if his medicare will cover all of his bills. I want to do everything I can to help Umberto because he did the same for me, and he deserves it and then some. He is an exemplary man and I am glad to know him!
