Justice for Tyler 2022

My name is Tyler Unique McClain. I’m 21 years old. I was born in Tulsa, OK. In May 2020, I was 19 and had just moved to Arkansas to pursue my career. One night after work, I was driving home when my car spun out, went into a ditch and flipped over. I was badly injured, and in shock. Someone passed by and reported my accident to the police. What happened next was unbelievable.
Instead of helping me to get out of my car to get medical treatment, the officers beat, shackled and tased me. This left me with more injuries, including a brain injury that affects my ability to function to this day.
The officers kept yelling at me and making demands. I was disoriented and really did not understand what they were saying. I was so disoriented that I even popped the hood of my car to try to get it restarted. That’s when I was arrested. This was extremely terrifying and traumatic for me.
To this day, I struggle with the effects. I suffer from multiple symptoms stemming from the brain injury, including memory loss, migraines, depression, and constant back pain. It’s been very hard for me to function, even to keep a job. I’ve had to rely on my mom, who has had her own struggles with breast cancer.
The body-cam footage from the arrest was recently released showing all of the horrible things that were done to me. I didn’t even know this footage existed. I am filing a lawsuit against the Arkansas officers, but I need money to hire a civil rights lawyer.
This GoFundMe page has been created in order to initiate this legal process and, to find professional assistance to get my health back on track. I’m taking this one step at a time. Thank you for any financial support you can contribute.
