Hello Dog Moms and Dads of Port Washington and beyond!
I am Laura Palattella’s niece Liza - some of you may have seen me from time to time behind the counter at everyone’s favorite dog store - Unleashed.
As many of you know, Laura has been working as hard as she can to get the store up and running. She is itching to be back at work, seeing all your familiar faces, and handling all your favorite pooches. Unfortunately, she’s hit blockade after blockade in her efforts. After a bad break-up with a business partner, Unleashed was forced to start over from scratch. But nothing can keep Laura away from the dogs she loves – from Port Washington to the South shore, and Manhattan to Montauk - so she got back up on her feet and started from the beginning. Opening a business in Port Washington isn’t easy, from the $7,000 attorney fees, to the $5,000 filing fees, or the $13,000 contractor fees, or the $6,900 plumbing fees. All of which Laura has been trying to cover from her own personal funds.
I know the community that she has been a part of for her whole life is there to support her, and I am here to take you all up on that offer. I want Unleashed to know we are here to help, and to know how grateful we are. To know we say thank you. Thank you for taking care of our pets when they’re not under our eyes. Thank you for answering all our questions about food, toys, treats, leashes, and training. Thank you for answering our panicked phone calls when our dog eats chocolate, or when their poop is definitely the wrong color. Thank you for being a valued, loved, wonderful part of our community.
Covid hasn’t been an easy time for most. So to thank you for your donation, Unleashed will be giving back to those who can give. If you can donate the price of your dog’s usual grooming, you will receive a 10% discount on your first grooming. Double your dog’s grooming will earn you a 25% discount, triple will earn you a 50% discount, and four times your dog’s usual grooming get’s you your first grooming free!
