Hi,
My name is Unwana Umoh and I am Nigerian international student who intends on starting my Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Illinois at Springfield in the Spring of 2021 (January 2021). I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Valparaiso University, Indiana.
As an international student I am unable to take up a full time job, and can only work a maximum of 20 hours on campus, which I also intend to do. The full estimated cost of attendance for an international student to attend the University of Illinois at Springfield is $25,683.40. I have been able to raise $14,422 from my savings, but with two siblings yet to complete college and the value of the Naira dropping significantly since my undergraduate studies, I refuse to become an additional financial burden for my parents. I am requesting $8,000 to supplement what I have raised so far. The $8,000 will cover my accommodation, insurance and some extra personal expenses.

I'm deeply grateful for any support. The University of Springfield’s MPA program will give me an opportunity to specialize in an area of public administration, as well as the opportunity to complete a professional certificate in the management of non-governmental organizations. A career in public service will allow me to have greater impact pursuing my mission to support disenfranchised communities and groups.
