Update 1
We want to continue having an impact on our community. These past two years have been a struggle with the backlash against books that uplift marginalized communities such as black, brown, and queer voices.
We need your help. Read our story here -Small bookstore threatened by censorship laws
Unfortunately, we have not been able to offer support to our trans youth, Title 1 programs, literacy nights, and other advocacy programs. This past year we’ve also struggled to meet payroll and keep the doors open.
Donate today as we transition to a nonprofit to qualify for grants and other funding so we can consistently uplift marginalized voices.
We want to raise
one year’s rent,
one year’s wages staff,
money to build the nonprofit, Our Stories, Our Future
pay the publisher accounts so we can get new books to stop the sales slide
and increase community programming that includes workshops, more authors, community events, book fairs, and more partnerships.
Your support is vital to our existence.
