Thank you so much to all our wonderful, generous donors who got our brave activists out of jail and back home with their families. Your support is deeply appreciated and allows us to continue this fight for nationwide legal abortion on demand and without apology! These arrests have not and will not slow us down; we will continue to dig our heels in and link arms to fight until all people are free and have bodily autonomy! We need your support to continue this momentum and spread the green wave across California! Wear and wave that green bandana to show your support for abortion rights!

Funds needed NOW for bail for three people involved in a dramatic non-violent civil disobedience art statement: No business as usual until legal abortion is restored nationwide. Bail was set at $20,000 each, we need to raise a total of $2,600 to post bail & $1,400 to cover car impound fees. The activists have been released as of the early morning hours of 7/29 thanks to a generous loan from a supporter. We are still raising money to be able to reimburse this person for their generosity.

On Thursday, July 28th a group of Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights protesters peacefully assembled at the LACMA's "Urban Lights" installation during which two brave female veterans chained themselves to the lamposts admidst a sea of bodies, metal coat hangers and fake blood in a brave & dramatic action to bring attention to all the lives affected by the overturn of Roe v Wade and the mounting abortion bans.

Lavi Bourne stated "I am putting my body on the line here today as a call to action because we cannot sit idly by as we are robbed of our freedom, rights and futures. No business as usual when you take away our rights. We demand nationwide legal abortion now." Victoria Eggers, a US military veteran said, "I enlisted to defend freedom, not have mine stolen! Together we can rise up for equality and human rights. This is not a protest against LACMA, but a call to the arts community and to all of society: silence is compliance, start taking action and RISE UP FOR ABORTION RIGHTS NOW!"

After several hours, LAPD shut down Wilshire Blvd to civilian traffic and the protestors were confronted with over 75 officers in riot gear. The two women and a male protestor, Sean, who had poured the fake blood made from washable paint, were arrested and charged with felony vandalism. This was an urgent political statement that should be celebrated and appreciated!

Contribute generously for their quick & safe release. Give what you can, spread the word and call the police stations and demand their release and charges dropped.
