Pablo Antillano ha sido un reconocido profesional, muy querido y admirado, en el mundo de las comunicaciones venezolanas, innovador del periodismo y un destacado estratega en los campos de la comunicación corporativa y la comunicación política. Desafortunadamente, hoy en día, Pablo sufre de adenocarcinoma metastásico, un tipo de cáncer en el páncreas, que requiere tratamiento urgente basado en quimioterapia, radioterapia y una intervención quirúrgica que sus médicos consideran esencial para salvarle la vida.

El tratamiento de Pablo consiste en administración intravenosa de Nab-Paclitaxel (100 mg) y Gemcitabina (1000 g), medicinas que difícilmente se consiguen en Venezuela. Un ciclo de quimioterapia incluye 2 sesiones por mes y requiere 4 ampollas del primero y 2 del segundo medicamento. La radioterapia se administrará en 14 aplicaciones. Se estima que el tratamiento inicial tomará 6 meses durante los cuales se evaluará nuevamente a Pablo para dilucidar el plan a seguir.

El plan de tratamiento de Pablo es muy costoso. Amigos y parientes de Pablo han decidido comenzar una campaña de recaudación de fondos para ayudar a enfrentar los costos de una terapia que, en Venezuela hoy día, será imposible de afrontar.

Pablo Antillano has been a renowned professional, well loved and admired, in the Venezuelan communications world, an innovator of journalism, and a prominent strategist in the fields of corporate and political communication. Unfortunately, today, Pablo suffers from metastatic adenocarcinoma—a type of cancer in the pancreas—which requires urgent treatment based on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and a surgical intervention that his doctors consider essential to save his life.

Pablo’s treatment consists of intravenous administration of Nab-paclitaxel (100 mg) and Gemcitabine (1000 g)—medicines that very expensive and hardly available in Venezuela. A cycle of chemotherapy includes 2 sessions per month and requires 4 ampoules of the first and 2 of the second medication. Radiotherapy will be administered in 14 applications. It is estimated that the initial treatment will take 6 months, during which Pablo’s condition will be re-evaluated to determine the follow up plan.

Paul's treatment plan is very expensive. Friends and relatives of Pablo have decided to start a fundraising campaign to help face the costs of a therapy that, in Venezuela today, will be impossible to afford.
