Help us bring Bill Tipton Sr. home!

Dear friends and loved ones,

We are Bill and Scott, the sons of a spunky 80-year-old man who has been dealt a terrible hand. Our dad is currently fighting for his life in a hospital in San Salvador and we desperately need your help to bring him home.

On New Years, our dad flew from the US to El Salvador to visit Scott. Just a few days into his visit Dad caught a cold which quickly escalated into pneumonia. To save his life, he was emergency intubated and spent the next week on a ventilator. After surviving the ventilator experience and turning the corner on pneumonia, the doctors found perforations in Dad’s duodenum. He was subsequently moved to another hospital where he underwent surgery to repair the duodenum. Despite the surgery, the infection continued and he underwent another surgery to bypass the duodenum and attach the stomach directly to the small intestine.

Despite his strength and resilience these last 6 weeks, our father is still in critical condition and needs one more surgery to attach the duodenum outside of his abdomen. The doctors have recommended that we medically fly him back to Austin, TX, where he and his wife Helen live, so that he can have the best chance of success for this final surgery.

The cost of this medical flight is substantial, in the tens of thousands of dollars. We are reaching out to you, our friends and loved ones, to help us raise the funds we need to bring our dad home for this critical surgery. If we are unable to collect enough money to pay for the flight, we will use the funds to pay for the medical expenses he and Helen are incurring.

This is a medical emergency and we need help now. We cannot stress enough the urgency of the situation and the importance of bringing our dad home as soon as possible. Any amount you can donate, no matter how small, will make a difference and bring us one step closer to getting our dad the care he needs.
