Help Us Bring Joy To Eli's Life
Donation protected
It’s been two years since Eli’s accident, which resulted in a spinal cord injury. The tragic fall left him a quadriplegic and wheelchair bound. On July 20, 2021, the course of Eli’s life, and our family’s life, changed forever. We were inspired by his first words following the accident…. “Half full, half empty, I’m just thankful for the cup”. Eli has maintained this positive mindset since that summer night, despite his days being filled with occupational and physical therapies, medical appointments, multiple surgeries, illnesses, hospitalizations, and more.
So here we are two years later and we'd like to bring some special JOY to Eli’s life. He has been working so hard. He still has his whole life in front of him, and here is his dream: to go to the beach again with his buddies…to get back on the rugged hiking trails with his brother…to have fun in the snow in winter! Since his accident, Eli has not been able to do these and so many other things with his friends and family. Why? Wheelchairs don’t work in sand; they can’t go into the woods, and they don’t get very far in the snow. This has been a big change for Eli socially and surely has impacted him emotionally, although he doesn’t let it show.
How can we make this happen? A 4x4 off-road power wheelchair capable of driving through rough terrain, loose sand, deep snow, and it can even go over curbs!! This wheelchair would be custom made just for Eli. We are currently applying for multiple grants and have already been awarded $4500 toward the purchase of the chair. Unfortunately, we’ve also been denied grants because it isn't viewed as a necessity. Could he live without it? Yes. But think how much better Eli's life could be WITH it! We still have a long way to go to meet this goal.
Together we can make this dream come true and bring some JOY back into Eli’s life!
Thank you in advance for your kindness!
With love and sincere appreciation,
The Cianciola Family
