Help us bring Paul home
Donation protected
It is with great sadness to be updating that Paul passed away yesterday. The family would like to thank all of those who have supported them during this difficult time. This has been greatly appreciated, the money raised will now be used to bring Paul home as soon as possible. We appreciate your respect at this time.
Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this, it is an absolutely heartbreaking thing to have to do and nothing this family would have ever thought they would need to be doing.
Paul Bond, a wonderful and hugely loved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend from Bristol has taken a devasting fall whilst working on his house project in Bulgaria which has caused what we currently believe to be irreversible head injuries. He is currently on life support in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria have different laws to the UK regarding keeping patients on life support and at this time, whilst in a stable condition could be on life support for an indefinite amount of time, as he remains stable. This heartbreaking situation is causing added stress and trauma to the family, not knowing how long they may need to remain in Bulgaria to be by his side when they can.
As we do not know how long Paul will continue to remain in this stable condition, we now feel the best option would be to get Paul home, where he belongs and where his family can be with their own families receiving support whilst being able to be by his side.
The best course of action can then be considered once he is back home. However, the cost of a private air ambulance to bring Paul home to receive his care in Bristol is around £30,000. A cost his insurance cannot cover.
Pauls two daughters are also having to pay for accommodation and travel in Bulgaria and are unable to be with their own children during this time. This a heartbreaking time for them. Please, let’s do everything we can to support them. Any donations are incredibly appreciated.
