Help us build a catio for our spa kitty

Our founders birthday is at the end of the month and every year she asks for presents for the kitties. After having our AC go out in the shed she realizes how dire it is we have somewhere the cats can escape the heat in case this ever happens again but also give them some enrichment opportunities too and change of scenery. It's still hot outside and with the rest of July and August our hottest months. She'd love to fulfill one of her biggest bucket list items of having a well built and stable catio. We've looked at wood ones but the problem with them is they will be sitting in dirt so the wood will eventually rot and won't contain them if it fails, we've looked at small kennels and the clearance space isn't high enough for our doors we had already installed when the shed was built. So we want to buy a poultry pen, as it also contains a roof and it will be easy to expand on. We'd love to buy two if we raise enough to give them more space and area to go into besides their current enclosed space.

So this year for her birthday if you could help us with a catio for our spa kitties that would be the puurrfect gift she could ask for. Mo works tirelessly for our sanctuary cats, she does all the work herself, she helps all the kitties here and spend massive amounts of time caring for each kitty and helping them when the need rises. She never complains and loves her sanctuary kitties so much. Mo also helps her community when she's been asked, helps provide medical, food and supplies and cares for some many others than just the sanctuary. So we'd love to make her birthday is amazing by helping our sanctuary kitties get the catio they deserve.

We are a community cat specific rescue that focuses on providing a safe landing place for community cats that are in direct harms way. Either by euthanization, or human caused harm by losing their home or being threatened as well as education about TNR and maintaining proper upkeep of community cat colonies.

Shades community cats is a sanctuary, not a typical rescue that adopts out pets- this means a very long-term commitment Also, this type of rescue disqualifies us from grants and cooperate funding.
