Help Us Build a Cob Oven and Make Our Workshop Accessible!
Tax deductible
This summer solstice, June 21st, we’re firing up something special—literally! We’re hosting a Cob Oven Making Workshop at Long Branch Environmental Education Center, and we need your help to make it happen.
Cob ovens are an ancient, sustainable way to cook with the earth beneath our feet. By mixing clay, sand, and straw, we’ll build a fully functional outdoor oven together—one that will serve our community for years to come. This hands-on workshop is a chance for participants to learn natural building techniques, get their hands dirty, and connect with others passionate about sustainability, food, and regenerative practices.
Why We Need Your Support
We believe education should be accessible to all, which is why we are committed to making this event affordable and sliding scale. However, materials and construction costs add up! Your donation will help us cover:
- Materials and labor to build a structure to house our cob oven
- High-quality clay, sand, and straw for the cob mixture
- Bricks and insulation materials for durability and efficiency
- Tools and equipment to make learning hands-on and engaging
- Compensation for our knowledgeable and experienced instructors
Join Us in Creating Something Lasting
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not only making this workshop accessible to more people, but you’re also contributing to a long-term community resource. Once completed, this cob oven will serve as a gathering space for future workshops, shared meals, and celebrations rooted in sustainability.
Help us bring this project to life! Every contribution—big or small—gets us one step closer to making this vision a reality.
Donate today and spread the word! Thank you for being a part of our community and for helping us build a better, more resilient future—one handful of cob at a time.
