Help us build a home for a family in Guatemala

Hi Everyone!

If you followed us on LOLOTOGO either on Facebook or Instagram, you know that we are passionate not only about traveling, but also giving back. 

We found small and meaningful charities to be the best way to contribute. This year (February) we decided to travel to Antigua, Guatemala and build a house for a deserving family. 

"In the poorest areas of highland Guatemala, improper building materials, a lack of appropriate resources, and unsustainable architecture turn houses to rubble in the blink of an eye.  Many indigenous families live in makeshift homes that are constructed of nothing more than cornstalk or cardboard walls with dirt floors.  Living in these conditions strips families of their dignity and hope, while fueling chronic health problems.

It goes without saying that quality housing is of utmost importance. Living in a cornstalk home means that families cannot focus on important things like getting work, going to school, their health and safety. Having a safe roof over a family’s head can make a huge difference in their life; A corn stalk shack can wash away during rainy season without warning, however this sturdy block home will alleviate this threat. "

This grassroots program will allow our family, together with skilled local workers, to build a cement block house in just 5 days. The cost of the house is 2000 USD and you can help! Please contribute whatever you can so that we can give a home to a deserving family. 

You will be able to follow our daily progress and see us hand over the door keys to the family,  whose life you helped to make better. Join us on this journey!

Sziasztok!

Ha követtétek utazásainkat a LOLOTOGO instagramon vagy a facebook oldalain tudjátok, hogy nem csak utazni szeretünk, de valamilyen módon mindig igyekszünk adakozni/segíteni is éppen ott, ahol vagyunk. 

Idén februárban Guatemalába utazunk majd, hogy házat építsünk egy Maya családnak. 

Guatemala legszegényebb részén a Maya családok kukorica és papírdobozokból készült házakban laknak,amelyeket pillanatok alatt el tud sodorni egy erősebb szél. Nem csak reménytelen és méltóságon aluli az ilyen élet, hanem egészségügyi és biztonsági problémáknak is ki vannak téve az itt lakók.

A ház/otthon a legfonosabb feltétele az élethez, tanuláshoz, egészséghez és biztonsághoz. Egy tétő amin nem esik be az eső, ablak amin keresztül bevilágít a napsugár és egy kulcs, amivel be lehet zárni az ajtót és félelem nélkül végig aludni az éjszakát életeket változtat meg. Az új házat majd nem mossa el az e ső az esős időszakokban sem és biztonságban marad a család. 

E program, a pénz (2000 USD szükséges egy ház építéséhez) amit össze gyűjtünk és az 5 napi munkánk által egy új esélyt, reményt, életet tudunk adni egy családnak. Kérlek támogassátok a célunkat, segítsetek. Minden adománynak, legyen kicsi vagy nagy nagyon örülünk és hálásan köszönjük .
