Help us build a safe place for Schneerson Center

Almost 40 years ago, Rabbi Bentzion Pil and Rebbetzin Mattie Pil, started Schneerson Center of San Francisco from a small room in the Richmond District of San Francisco, a home to over twenty thousand Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Since then, the Center has grown tremendously and has had an incredible impact, touching the hearts and souls of thousands of Russian-speaking Jews across several generations. The Center has been home to daily prayer services, Torah classes, hundreds of bar and bat mitzvah celebrations, and holiday events. In addition, it has multiple ongoing programs for the elderly, youth, and kids, all to bring our fellow Jews closer to their G-d-given heritage.
On February 1, 2023, a man entered the Schneerson Center around 7:20 p.m. He fired blanks from a handgun, stunning congregants gathered for a regular Wednesday night study session. Although the gunman was arrested and charged with hate crimes, many elderly community members are terrified and feel unsafe in a building that is not adequately equipped with essential security artifacts.
This campaign is phase one of the Schneerson Center building project. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Pil are raising $400,000 for a down payment on a new Center that will be a safe place of worship for thousands of community members. The funds will be used to secure a building that allows modern security elements to be installed and utilized. Please open your heart and donate generously to help us make this dream a reality for the entire community! Every dollar you give will be matched by a Donor
