Introduction
Roots of Hope Organization was founded in November of 2018 with the aim of creating a community centre for children in the heart of Michamvi, Zanzibar, Tanzania. The project was Founded by Inia Maria Rutgerson Sassebo (Norway), Mnyamisi Mwinjuma (Tanzania) and Richard Tito (Tanzania).
In November 2018 we registered as an Ngo in Norway.
We used the summer of 2019 to raise awerness and funds for the project through selling handmade jewellery in different Markets in Norway. In January 2020 one of the founders of Roots of Hope moved to Zanzibar, Tanzania to build up the centre. 25 of February 2020 we bought the plot for the project.
Our Mission is connecting, educating and supporting the children and young youth through cultural, artistic and physical activities. Focusing on nursing a youth that is dynamic, active, responsible and committed in the development process.
OUR VISION.
Our vision is that Roots of Hope will offer a warm, safe, educational, and open community where children between the age 5-12 years old can freely participate in different courses offered at the centre. We want to work as an organization that operate as a community centre and gives the children of Michamvi a free opportunity to thrive in different fields and courses. We would strive for continued improvement of health, cultural and artistic activities for the children and young youth of Michamvi.
We want to offer the children an introduction to healthy activity and cultural interaction through music, dance, acrobatic, yoga, English, theater and a variety of art and craft activities.
In october 2020 we started with inviting volunteers to the project plot. It has been and still are a great help. We aim to be ecological and have since October we started to plant our own garden, fruit trees and veggies.

Building plan and budget:
Our plan is to finish the building of the kitchen and the playground first followed by the stage and in the end we will build the community centre.
The community centre contains four different classroom.
1. Classroom 1: will be used as an Art & Craft room
2. Classroom 2: will be used as a teaching room
3. Classroom 3: will be used as a nursery room for the smallest kinds
4. Classroom 4: will be used as a music room with possibilities of recording music.
