Help Us Build: The Wisdom House!

Our nation has grown into a place where tapping into the wisdom of our elders is being missed. We are ignoring a goldmine of precious knowledge at our fingertips. Moreover, since the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in depression and suicide rates among high functioning adult populations who are dealing with hard things. These groups include adult children of aging parents, Care givers for chronically ill loved ones, people over the age of 65, individuals who are suffering from life changing medical conditions, and more. These populations may not be appropriate for an inpatient facility, but they need support. They need to discover a new purpose and joy in life, and this is our goal at The Wisdom House!

The Wisdom House is a place to come and refresh the soul. It will be a place to decompress from worries and anxiety by engaging in many different services such as mental health counseling sessions, yoga, gardening, art classes, and informative presentations. It is a place to gain wisdom or share wisdom with others in a presentation or individual mentoring format. It is a place to connect with others through gardening, Bible study and prayer or to just sit alone and read with a cup of coffee in the library room. It is a place to heal.

We are reaching out to you with an exciting vision that holds the power to transform lives: The Wisdom House: Resource Center. Our mission is to purchase a small home that can be transformed into a bright, happy, and uplifting space that is a blessing and to those who need a little encouragement to face the challenges of life can return to their day feeling supported.

The Dream
Imagine a quaint home with a picket fence in the downtown area of a local community that offers a backyard space for outdoor activities, gardening, and connecting with nature while the indoor space is welcoming and bright with rooms for counseling sessions, mentoring of older adults to younger adults, a kitchen for cooking classes, a library for a quiet reading space, and a family room for presentations, classes, and retreats.

What We Offer
Mentorship Programs: Our center will allow seniors to teach workshops and provide guidance based on their careers and life lessons, fostering intergenerational connections.

Counseling Services: We will provide access to professional counseling, helping individuals navigate life's challenges in a supportive environment.

Community Library: A warm space filled with books, comfortable seating, and free coffee—a perfect spot for those who seek companionship without financial strain.

Yoga and Art Classes: We’ll offer wellness and creative classes to promote mental and physical health, helping seniors stay active and engaged.

Gardening: A beautiful garden where everyone can come together, grow food, and cultivate friendships, nurturing both body and soul.

Why We Need Your Help
To bring this vision to life, we need your support to cover the down payment of a small house that will serve as the heart of The Wisdom House. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to cover the cost of the down payment. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to creating this vital resource.
