Funeral & Burial fundraiser for Godson Onyeukwu in Nigeria

Donation protected
On the evening of Saturday, September 7th, 2024, our beloved father, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and friend, Godson Chukwuemeka Onyeukwu, passed away at the age of 79 years old. To say that our family is devasted and heartbroken by the loss of this kind, gentle, and amazing soul would be an understatement.

Our father was a strong, hardworking, resilient, and a very nice man, who gave so much of himself to help and care for others. Raising 3 kids but also being a pioneer and leader for the Onyeukwu family are just a few of his major accomplishments throughout his life. He was a loving uncle and cousin to his many nephews, nieces, and cousin both in Nigeria and America, but an even more devoted father and husband to his wife and children.

While living in America and raising his family, our father was still very ambitious and involved in his plans to become more financially secure, as he was actively managing building a primary house amongst other properties on his land, back in Nigeria. He informed all of us of these plans at a very early age and always wanted us to takeover managing the building of these properties as he grew in age. We will surely complete this goal of his.

In our household, our father held all of us to high standards to excel in education and to become the very best versions of ourselves because he was a man who believed in striving for greatness, in which could be achieved through prayer, hard work, and determination.

It was our father’s wish to be buried in the compound of his hometown in Nigeria, and we want to do any and everything we can to ensure that we honor his last wish. Therefore, my family and I humbly ask that if you can help us in anyway to send our father home to his final resting place, we would greatly appreciate it. Whether or not a contribution is made towards this cause, we request that you please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers, as we continue to grieve and learn to heal from this loss.

We will sorely miss our father more than words can express. It was not an easy feat to write this letter or even come to terms with the fact that he is no longer on Earth with us. The pain of not being able to hear his voice, make our usual jokes with him, or see his smiling face is truly unbearable for a lot of us to ponder at this moment. However, the remembrance that he lived a long and extraordinary life and that he has entered his heavenly journey where he is reunited with his mother, his father, his sisters, his brother, and all of his dear friends, will bring us some comfort.

We would sincerely like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers, along with the encouragement, sympathy, and support that my family and I have received over the last couple of days, weeks, and months. They truly mean a lot to us.  Please feel free to share this post to anyone that may have known our father or to anyone who may be willing to help us.

Thank you and God Bless you all!
