Help us bury our son killed in jail

The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate the joy of being an American.

But for our family, it was a time of tragedy.

On July 4, 2023, we lost our son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend Christopher Douglas Thomas-Foggy.

As others were celebrating freedom, we received heartbreaking news that our beloved Christopher was killed while in police custody at the Solano County Jail in Vallejo, California. The circumstances surrounding his death aren’t yet clear, but we believe he was murdered by Solano County police.

Remembering our friend and brother

Christopher was born on May 4, 1982. He spent most of his life in Vallejo.

Christopher was nothing less than a sweet kind person. He was the type of man people loved being around – especially his siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was very well known in the city of Vallejo and even outside of town.

His love for his family and his sense of humor were unmatched. Words just can't describe what a smart, strong, wise, and humble individual he was. He never held grudges. He wasn't fake or phony. It was always a pleasure to have someone like him around to make you laugh and have fun. We all have so many precious memories of our beloved Christopher.

Still, his family never gave up on him. We know he endured so much pain. He was killed by the system that ultimately took his precious life. He did not deserve this at all.

Christopher will always have a special place in all of our hearts. We love him so much and will miss him every day that he's gone. We know one day we’ll see him again. We take comfort in knowing he is with his family of angels at peace. Peace at last.
