Help us buy water and food for typhoon victims

I am writing this with a heavy heart as I ask for your help. Last Thursday (December 16, 2021), the Philippines was hit by a super typhoon/cyclone (Rai) with speeds up to 250kph. The typhoon has severely damaged many islands in the Philippines and devastated the lives of thousands.

The damage has left many Filipinos homeless without access to necessities like food and water. In addition, there are no power and phone signal in the affected areas as electrical posts and telecom sites have been knocked down by the strong winds. Currently, my hometown, Moalboal (a small township hours away from the main city) has not been receiving attention and help from the local government. Help is more focused on far away big cities and there are no organizations that are helping our small township. Since they live far away from the big cities, it is almost impossible to have access to clean drinking water. Many people from Moalboal are suffering from dehydration and hunger as resources are scarce in addition to now being homeless.

 

I would like to ask for your help if you could spare a small amount to help provide relief to those who were severely affected by the typhoon. With the money raised, we are going to purchase drinking water, canned goods, and hygiene kits. For reference, 10 CAD will buy a box of 20 x 1L water bottles that will help 20 people last 2-3 days.
