Help Us Celebrate Jaime's Life and Memory

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Jaime Ilmedo Austria on Friday, September 27, 2024. Jaime, known to most as Jimmy, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who brought joy to many lives. Unfortunately, in his final days, he faced a sudden and aggressive illness that we did not have time to fully understand or fight.

On Friday, September 20, a CT scan unexpectedly showed concerning masses on Jimmy's pancreas and liver. From what initially started as stomach pain became a likely cancerous diagnosis. Jimmy was admitted to the hospital, though he spent three days in the emergency room waiting for a room to open up. As his scheduled biopsy was repeatedly postponed until Wednesday, we still await the results and the closure we’d hope to find with them.

Jimmy passed away suddenly on the morning of September 27 after nearly 30 minutes of CPR. Within hours after seeing him the night before, he was gone before our family had the chance to say our final goodbyes. The doctors believed that Jimmy had suffered from acute liver failure, a condition that progressed rapidly and without warning.

Our family is devastated not only by his loss but also by the financial strain of arranging the funeral service that Jimmy truly deserves. The unexpected passing of our beloved Jimmy has left us with emotional and financial burdens that we were not prepared for. We are reaching out to our community for support.
