Help us Challenge Plymouth's Decision on EBC

We are Good Neighbors of Plymouth and Maple Grove. We are raising money for our legal challenge to the City of Plymouth's decision to approve Eagle Brook Church's massive new campus in our neighborhood. We believe the city council of Plymouth acted inappropriately and in violation of their duties as elected officials when they reversed their initial decision to deny the conditional use permit for the EBC campus. We do not oppose churches, religious houses of worship or religions of any kind: this solely a challenge to a land-use decision.

Reasons Good Neighbors of Plymouth and Maple Grove Opposes the EBC development:

• The property is zoned for residential in Plymouth’s own comp plan.

o This means one of the last “greenfield” properties in Plymouth will be consumed by a single use that will not contribute to the tax base of the city or the Wayzata school district.

• The conditional use permit allows for “neighborhood scale” churches, not warehouse sized auditoriums.

o Additionally, the nearly 700 stall impermeable surface parking lot will damage the adjacent wetlands.

• The road network will not be able to handle the rush of traffic before and after services as all attendees will be arriving via car- the vast majority of whom will be traveling from well outside the community.

o The adjacent road network was recently reconstructed and if additional capacity is needed, the community will end up effectively subsidizing the church’s traffic needs due to the church not contributing to the tax base.

Good Neighbors of Plymouth and Maple Grove is a Minnesota 501(c)4 nonprofit formed by neighbors living in the immediate vicinity of the EBC site.
