Hi my name is Nakeya. I started Queen in a Dress after my Mother passed away from Cancer to turn my pain into purpose.

We provide an annual event in which we give Prom dresses, any school dance dress to any young lady ages 6 years old thru high school. We also provide them with dress shoes, jewelry, and new makeup.

This has been our lowest donation year due to rising cost of the economy which is completely understood. Our need is significant as we have already registered over 140 young ladies for this year's event which will take place on:

March 3, 2024

Time 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

That number will grow as we take any young lady whether they have registered or not. To date we have serviced over 930 young ladies since we started 8 years ago.

We need to purchase plus size gowns, new makeup, Uhaul rental, large size dress shoes, provide food to our volunteers, pay out storage fees.

We also do that we can apply for grants going forward transition into a non profit as I have paid for a lot of overhead throughout the years as we store the gowns year round and we have 3 storage units.

Please help us to change lives of young ladies one dress at a time. We provide Entrepreneur books, financial literacy books to enrich their lives for the better to all that attends and receives a dress.

We also give Prom ticket money and College bound students with success baskets as many fo not have resources to help them succeed beyond high school.
