Help us change the lives of 400 plus Tanzanian School Kids
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Thank you for first of all taking the time to read this as we all know we live in a very busy world, but here we go.
We need YOUR help to help us impact another 400+ kids in Tanzania. We will attempt to hike the UK 3 peaks (Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike, and Snowdon) in less than 24 hours. Our challenge will see us set off from Ben Nevis, down to Scaffel Pike and finishing in Wales. This will be an incredibly difficult physical challenge but we’re confident we can finish under the 24 hours, doing this for an incredible cause.
We are doing this to raise money for our NGO Footprints of Hope for Phase 2 of our Tanzania project.
Your kind donations will be used to:
Fund the rebuilding and fitting of critical infrastructure at Itamba Primary School
Work with NGO and government to provide a self sustaining well in the town
Create a self sustaining crop and agricultural system to feed the poorest
Exterior and interior redevelopment of classrooms
This will improve the education and prospects of kids that desperately need our support. We know we can’t change the whole world but we can play our part and leave a small bit of the world a much better place.
But to give you some context why we are doing all of this:
Starting in 2018
Lets rewind back to 2018, one of our founders Joe Taylor went to Tanzania, this is what he said:
After deferring my place at Newcastle UNI and from the back of a heart break… I needed to do some soul searching, just leaving college. I was just a kid with a dream.
Then I decided to do something crazy, to volunteer in the beautiful country of Tanzania, a country so rich with culture and heritage I stayed there for just under 3 months.
This journey sparked the start of something great. I promised I would come back and make a meaningful difference, but I needed people, money and resources and so our journey really began.
Moving into 2023
So moving into 2023 I returned with my dad Andrew and we trained to climb the world's tallest freestanding mountain…Mount Kilimanjaro.
And f**k me that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, 8 days of pure hell but we got there, we made it…19,000 feet later.
Although I can’t write this without mentioning that my dad got up there before (so he likes to think) fair play for a 64 year old man. He will live a happy man knowing he beat his junior haha.
Moving into 2024
After meeting Tom Gelder, Mo Jogee and Marc Hosie the founding members of Footprints of Hope, we decided we have to make a difference.
The journey for us started in January of 2024 as we agreed to come together and partner with a school and build a Football pitch in Iringa, Tanzania.
With months of planning and development, liaising with builders and stakeholders we managed to build a full scale Football pitch in the heart of Iringa.
Iringa is a small town in south Tanzania with a population of 100,000. Like a lot of places in Tanzania there is a lot of poverty and what we saw, we couldn’t have prepared for.
We partnered with the mayor of Iringa, who helped unveil and open the pitch, so building a strong relationship with politicians is key for them to see our work.
We even got full kits donated by Manchester city, so using our network was powerful and we’re grateful to everyone who has donated so far.
After taking a trip to a small village, we met and saw some of the poorest people in the world. Mud hut houses, no food, unable to walk, a blind lady who lost all her 7 kids and a man who touched our hearts.
A man named Jerry, we did an emergency appeal as when we met him he had a wooly hat covering his head, when we took it off he had a huge hole in his head, infected and open. He had unbearable pain and if we didn’t get him the help he needed he would have deteriorated.
Imagine, his own brother forcing him into the streets. After incredible donations from our network and partners we raised over £2,300 in less than 48 hours.
So where are we now and how can you HELP us continue our mission?
So phase 1 of our 10 year project is done but the work is far from done. This year to fundraise for charity we’re aiming to do the UK 3 peaks in less than 24 hours. Over 23 miles in walking, driving over 400 miles, whilst pushing ourselves physically and mentally.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will help us massively. We’re on a mission to raise £10,000 to allow us to:
Fund the rebuilding and fitting of critical infrastructure at Itamba Primary School
Work with NGO and government to provide a self sustaining well in the town
Create a self sustaining crop and agricultural system to feed the poorest
Exterior and interior redevelopment of classrooms
At Footprints of Hope, we believe no child should suffer from hunger or lack of opportunity. Right now, countless children in Tanzania are struggling without access to food, education, or basic care. But with your help, we can change their future.
Be the change. Leave your Footprint of Hope and help change the future
