Help Us Cremate and Bring Timothy Gaffney Home

My boyfriend, Mark NeCamp’s, step dad, Timothy Gaffney, tragically passed away this past weekend. This is the only dad Mark has ever known, and Mark is one of Timothy’s only remaining family members, and they talked everyday. Timothy was a combat veteran, however the VA is refusing to fund his cremation. They will only fund burial up to a certain amount and it has to be in his current state which is NM. Timothy’s biggest fear was dying in NM, and unfortunately that happened before we could get him out to Tennessee to be with us. We want to honor his wishes that he at least not be buried in NM. Timothy’s wishes were to either be buried at sea or have his ashes spread in the ocean with the ashes of Mark’s mother, his soulmate. We have found a cremation company in NM that is the most affordable and has quoted us around this amount for cremation and shipment of the ashes here to us in TN. Mark and I simply do not have the funds to pay for this as it is unexpected and Timothy has no life insurance. Even more so, we are not getting any help from the VA with Timothy’s cremation, despite him being a combat veteran. All proceeds of this fundraiser will go straight to the cremation of Timothy Gaffney and the shipment of those ashes here to us in TN so that we can honor his wishes of spreading his ashes with Mark’s mom’s at sea. At this point, we are not even trying to get an urn or a memorial or anything of that nature, we are just trying to get him here to us so that he can finally rest in peace.
