Help Us Deliver Vital Aid to Asheville Community

Donation protected
These funds will go towards funding the purchase and delivery of essential supplies for the Asheville community.

Our community of Asheville has been ravaged by the effects of Hurricane Helene. There is severe flooding in many areas. Fallen trees across roads, power lines, buildings and vehicles. Many citizens are without power or running water. Because of the severity of the damages done, we could be without power for weeks. Cell service is scarce and many folks don’t even know if their family members are okay because that can’t be reached via phone.

Asheville needs all the love and support it can get right now.

One way we are trying to help is bringing supplies back home with us from out of state. What we are hearing from reports of residents currently in the thick of it: Some grocery stores are open, but they are selling limited products for cash only. Many people have no running water or under a boil advisory with no way to heat water. Very little gas stations are still open and if their gas is not contaminated, they are selling for cash only.

Resources are limited right now. The last thing people need to worry about is having clean water to drink.

That’s why we are extending an invitation to partner with us to bring some essentials to Asheville. Regardless if we receive any contributions or not, we will be purchasing a pickup truck load of supplies. This as an opportunity to make a difference.

Our goal is to fill our truck bed with these items before returning to Asheville on Monday (September 30th):

Bottle Water (this is the most requested resource we are hearing about)

Distilled Water

Shelf Stable Foods

Flashlights

Candles

Matches

15 Gallons of Gasoline

Asheville needs our help!

Who are we and why do we care?

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to call Asheville home for the last four years. We love our community and mountains.

We left to visit family in Oklahoma on Thursday morning for a pre-planned weekend trip. Little did we know what we were missing. Thankfully, we are safe out of harms way but our hearts go out to our friends and family that we can barely even contact.

We are watching the situation closely and planning our route back home on Monday. This has been difficult due to I-40 & I-26 both being destroyed in some areas and closed off. Our home is currently without power and our neighbors had trees fall on their houses and cars.

We will be going shopping for as much as our truck (Ram 1500) can hold tomorrow in preparation for our trip. Our priority is to fill up the truck bed with mostly water.

What will we do with the resources?

Our hope is to give out whatever we can to whoever is in need. We are in contact with family and others in our community to see what resources they may need. If possible we will also drop off supplies at our local church to be made available to those in need.

Why should I donate?

You don’t have to. Like I said we are going to bring what we can back with us regardless of any donations or not. BUT - your support would make a huge difference. It may help us to buy even more resources. Plus free up our own finances to help prepare us for the unexpected in the coming weeks as we adjust and restore as a community. Whatever extra funding we may get will go to local churches or nonprofits helping with relief efforts.

Thank you for your support, time and prayers. Everything helps.
