Help Us Drive Change: we are raising funds for a minibus for The Peak Adventure in 2025.

The Peak Adventure is a NOT FOR PROFIT outdoor based education provision based in East Sussex with mental health and wellbeing at its core. We are dedicated to creating a brighter future for 11 - 14 year olds who find it challenging to reach their full potential and thrive in mainstream school. The young people we work with have difficulty managing their emotions and behaviours.

These behaviours manifest in a variety of ways, including: isolating themselves, displaying challenging or disruptive behaviour and having inappropriate responses to situations. This is often a reflection of underlying mental health issues, such as: anxiety or depression, self-harming, substance misuse and diagnosed/undiagnosed disabilities such as ADHD and Autism. Social issues that children with these needs may face include communication issues, attachment issues, and difficulty building and maintaining relationships.

This vehicle will enable us to transport young people to essential off-site learning experiences and community engagement activities, making a profound difference in their lives at school and at home.

We aim to improve the health, wellbeing, self-esteem and belonging of participants through increased social contact and contact with nature. This provides opportunities for young people to feel they are part of something and can make a positive difference.

The provision promotes and explores the idea of being adventurous. Having an adventurous mind-set encourages creativity and supports us to overcome challenges.

At the end of our first academic year (2023/24) 100% of parent/carers said at the end of the course that they would recommend this programme to future participants and families. 96% of participants made an overall improvement on our four key personal values: participation & involvement, communication & respect, teamwork & helping others and resilience & adaptability.
