Help us buy a bus to bringing sewing skills to Irish Schools

Hi, I'm Anneliese, founder of Fashion Connect Ireland. I'm on a mission to help re-build garment manufacturing here in Ireland.

At Fashion Connect Ireland, we’re driven by a bold vision: to ignite the creativity of the next generation and rekindle the spirit of craftsmanship across our nation.

Imagine a future where every young person in Ireland has the skills, the passion, and the pride to create and mend their own clothes—transforming the way they see fashion and the world. To make this dream a reality, we’re setting out on an extraordinary journey.

We want to transform a 55-seat coach into a mobile education space, a rolling workshop filled with sewing machines and boundless opportunities. This bus will travel to schools across Ireland, inviting students aboard to learn the art of sewing, how to repair their clothes, and reconnect with the value of what they wear.

This isn’t just about teaching a skill; it’s about sowing the seeds of a revolution in how we think about fashion, sustainability, and our future. By empowering young people to create and cherish their own garments, we’re instilling a deeper understanding of sustainability and self-expression. We're cutting down on landfill waste and fostering a mindset that values quality over quantity. I’ve spent my entire life in this industry, and nothing inspires me more than the thought of every citizen in Ireland, one day, owning a piece of clothing with “Made in Ireland” proudly stamped on the label—a symbol of our rich heritage and creative future.

But in order to take this literal drive towards change we need your help. How Your Donations Will Be Spent:

We are actively reaching out to schools in our local communities to register their interest in having our bus visit. This helps us identify and prioritize those schools.

Pilot Program Funding: The funds raised will cover all necessary costs for the pilot program, including:

-Purchase and fitting of the bus

-Fuel and staffing

-Educational materials and other essential resources

Future Expansion Plans: After the pilot, we plan to seek government support to expand the program nationwide, using the pilot's success as a proof of concept.

Transparency and Reporting: A comprehensive final report on the pilot’s outcomes will be compiled and made available on our website for public viewing.
