Help Us Fight Kidney Cancer with Hayden

Hayden’s battle started from the minute she was born and she has spent her whole life proving to us that she is a strong and brave warrior. At only three years old, her battles have been greater than any one person should ever face, but she has always proven to everyone she’s earned her warrior title. She started this journey at only 24 weeks, weighing in at 1 lb 8 oz and only 12 inches long. She fought for 195 days in the NICU and has overcome hurdle after hurdle since being discharged.

Unfortunately, she has a new battle that she has to face. While in the PICU at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with RSV this past week, Hayden was diagnosed with a very large Wilms’ Tumor on her left kidney. We won’t know how much (or if) the cancer has spread until after surgery, which will consist of removing the tumor, the entire kidney, surrounding lymph nodes and placing a port to receive chemotherapy. She will then begin chemo at Cincinnati while her oncologists create a treatment plan catered to her. They will be determining how aggressive and how long she'll need to be on it and when she can be transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus to continue her care.

We have never been ones to ask for help, however we need to be humble and ask in these trying times. We need to be there for both of our daughters through driving back and forth to Cincinnati from Columbus, recovery and weekly chemotherapy infusions. In order to support our daughters as they need, we have to be more present with them and less so at our jobs. This gofundme will be going towards helping keep us afloat with our bills while we prioritize the girls. Every little bit helps and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Hayden has always had such a huge support group since the day she was born. Everyone that knows her knows that she is the sweetest and fieriest tiny human alive and we are positive she will prove to everyone again that she’s a warrior. Thank you for following her journey
