Help Us Finalize Anthony's Adoption

I'm embarrassed to have to make this fundraiser, but I'm at a point where I'm not sure what else to do. Anthony is my great-nephew who was placed in our care in August 2023. He thrived with us and has made some huge steps in many areas of his life. On April 9th, we officially adopted him as our own son. He is the second child we have adopted due to unfortunate circumstances in my family. I adopted my niece Carissa 10 years ago. At that time, I was able to hire an attorney for $800. This time around, I wasn't as lucky. Our attorney was absolutely wonderful, but that comes at a price. The Department of Child Services/the state only pays $2,000 towards your adoption attorney. My work will reimburse me $2,500 that I don't have to pay upfront. I had planned to pay the attorney out of my tax check, but Anthony's bio parents claimed him even though they knew they weren't supposed to, and my taxes are now sitting in limbo. I have no idea when I will even be able to start fighting for my taxes because, well, the IRS. I don't ask for help, but I'm asking for any help to pay these attorney fees so we can put this all behind us and move forward. Thank you.
