Help Us Find a New Home With Our Animals
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Ren and my partner is Duo. We're both disabled transfolk and together we have a dog, two rabbits, and six cats. We just today (1/3/2024) got the letter posted in the header picture and are at a loss. Neither of us are employed, though not for a lack of trying on my part. We're both applying for disability though haven't got anywhere yet (though I do have a lawyer working with me), and Duo can only work on paid art commissions if we have electricity and internet. Thankfully those are both free right now but after we lose the apartment, we won't have the electricity to power the internet.
We have an appointment January 9th to talk to rental assistance where we will mention this to them (of course). We also happen to live right around the corner from a homeless coalition so we plan to go tomorrow or when they're next open to get help there. We know no one in our town of Louisville, Kentucky who can help us because of our animals, though some of them would get a pass were we to find a place. Two of the cats are emotional support animals (with letters), the dog is a service dog (with a letter), and the rabbits live in a pen which some rental agencies don't see as either a "real pet" or an issue since they're contained.
If you donate, your money will go to moving expenses, ubers/lyfts to look at apartments and go to appointments, our phone bills for January and February, and potentially rent for our current living situation. We don't waste gifts so what you see is what we have to offer. We're simple, humble people who have hit bad streak after bad streak and this one is a deep gash. Thank you for reading this and thank you for helping. Even if you can't donate, please share this on your social media(s) so anyone who can help will see it.
