FILE #2024-1607 - Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)
Asking the family, friends and public for their support to continue Karen Tessier's search efforts & continued awareness on her disappearance. Since July 10, 2024, Karen’s parents, Elizabeth and Ralph Tessier, have poured their hearts, time, and financial resources into searching for their beloved daughter. This journey has placed an immense financial strain on them. After over 50 years of service to the Fort Nelson Community, they had hoped to enjoy their retirement, but instead, they have invested their retirement savings into search efforts and raising awareness for Karen’s case.
The costs have been overwhelming to conduct searches, along with travel costs for Ralph’s health-related trips need to attend appointments down south.
Despite these challenges, Elizabeth and Ralph remain steadfast in their mission. Your support will help alleviate this financial burden and ensure the search for Karen continues into 2025 and beyond.
How contributions will be used, every dollar donated will go directly towards:
• Search Efforts: Funding renewed searches in the spring of 2025 once the snow melts to snow fall, with resources for volunteers and professionals.
• Awareness Campaigns: Creating memorabilia, and other materials to keep Karen’s story visible and encourage someone to come forward.
• Community Events: Organizing gatherings and meals to foster hope, share updates, and connect with those who may have critical information.
• Support for Karen’s Family: Assisting with travel and health-related costs, ensuring Elizabeth and Ralph can focus on finding Karen.
Karen was a beautiful soul who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was born on November 29, 1967, in Fort Nelson General Hospital, to Elizabeth Burke and Ralph Tessier. Known for her adventurous spirit, infectious laugh, and unwavering dedication to her family, Karen was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
From fixing motors with her dad to competing as Rodeo Queen, Karen’s zest for life and resilience inspired everyone around her. She had a special bond with her dog Soma, who misses her dearly and often retreats to her room. Karen’s life was full of love, laughter, and moments of joy that her family will always cherish.
We asked the Fort Nelson Community to come together and invite the public that didn't know Karen from far and wide to come together and support these efforts ~ This is about community, helping a completed stranger, about compassion, and bringing a loved one home.
We are not looking to assign blame—only to uncover the truth and honor Karen’s memory. Together, we can make a difference and give Karen’s family the peace they deserve. Thank you for your prayers, contributions, and support. Let’s bring Karen home.
On behalf of Elizabeth, Ralph, and the Tessier/Burke Family, I ask for your generous support with love and gratitude.
