Help Us Find Shelter for Our Family
Donation protected
Imagine waking up to find your home reduced to rubble, leaving you with nowhere to turn for shelter or safety. This has become the reality for my family and me in Gaza.
Before the war, we had a thriving life. My husband and I had poured our hearts and efforts into building a dream home for our beautiful family. However, the war has stripped us of everything. Forced us to flee our home to escape the violence, my husband, myself, and our three innocent boys—Kareem, Qusai, and Waleed. We thought we would return within few days. Yet, we were devastated by the news that our house had been bombed, erasing not just the roof over our heads but also the toys, pictures, and memories of our beloved children.
Now, we find ourselves struggling to survive amidst the aftermath of destruction. Displaced and without a home, the tent we live in offers no protection against the cold or the threat of bombings. Our children are deprived of warmth, food, medical care, clean water, and basic sanitation. The trauma of our situation is profound, with every aspect of humane and dignified living stripped away from us.
In our desperation, we've lost almost everything. The need to survive has driven my son to sell cans, scraping together enough for vegetables and medicine. Each night, we sleep in fear, haunted by the sound of nearby bombings and the dread that one of my sons could be the next target. Every morning, I fear it might be the last time I see my children.
In this moment of absolute despair, I've reluctantly decided to set up this page, realizing it's our only remaining option to find shelter and rebuild our home. The situation in Gaza is dire, and the costs for us to seek safety are enormous. The permit fee to cross the Rafah border is $6,000 per adult and $2,500 per child, amounting to a significant sum for our family of two adults and three children. Also, we urgently need $10,000 to secure basic necessities and shelter, with an additional $70,500 required to rebuild our family home.
As I write this, I can hear the sound of bombing near our tent in Rafah. Thank you deeply for taking the time to read our plea. Your support, whether through sharing our story, donating, or simply sending kind thoughts, means the world to us. We are in dire need of compassionate individuals who can help us restore a semblance of normalcy for my children providing them with education, new clothes, toys, and, most importantly, a safe
home.
