My name is Beatriz Villarroel. I am an astronomer and the project leader of the Vanishing and Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations (VASCO) project. In the VASCO project, we search for transient sources indicative of exciting astrophysical phenomena or signatures of extra-terrestrial intelligence (ET). This includes:

solar reflections of ET probes near our Earth. This new research program that include searches for ET probes as they reflect sunlight by looking in historical archival data, modern sky surveys and a specially designed observational program to search for alien probes on asteroids.

searches for vanishing stars. This includes searches for hypothetical failed supernova and potential Dyson spheres.

We need your financial support to continue the VASCO project and boost its maximum potential in the coming five years. We are now in our most exciting data analysis time when we expect many fascinating findings.

With the funds we will:

• fund the core researchers so that they can dedicate their work time to VASCO

• develop citizen science activities that we have developed together with amateur astronomy associations.
