Help us fly supplies to Western NC after Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, communities across Western North Carolina are facing tremendous challenges. Families have lost their homes, businesses have been damaged, and essential services are simply overwhelmed.
We are a group of pilots from Charlotte, NC, who are trying to make an impact by flying supplies and resources out to Western NC. We believe that small aircraft can deploy resources faster because we don't need to wait for roads to be cleared. We'll use funds to purchase supplies like nonperishable foods, hygiene items, and baby supplies. I, Benjamin Spells, will be overseeing the withdrawal of funds into my personal account so that we can move forward with support ASAP. I will keep donors updated about the management and use of funds via the Updates functionality of GoFundMe. We'll be withdrawing funds ASAP to get items to people in need.
We're trying to get in contact with local airport and emergency management personnel, but because of power outages, we're waiting to hear back. We hope to have a distribution plan in place soon. Any funds that we are unable to use will be forwarded to an appropriate emergency response organization/agency.
Every dollar counts, and your generosity can have a profound impact. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support will help us provide a glimmer of hope in a life-changing situation for our neighbors.
Thank you for your generosity!
