Help us fully fund, "In This House"

Hello! I'm Meaghan Novoa, an emerging choreographer based in Atlanta, GA.

I've received a grant from Arts & Entertainment Atlanta and City Of Atlanta's Mayors Office Of Cultural Affairs to share my evening length work, "In This House." This work is set to premiere at the Balzar Theater in downtown Atlanta, June 14th & 15th at 7:30pm. This show features 6 talented, Atlanta based dancers and also features collaborations with an Atlanta based composer, costume designer and Sardinia, Italy based visual artist.

With the funding I've received, this covers about 85% of the production costs. I need your help to finish funding this project in order to actualize the potential impact of this work!

The remaining 15% of costs include fees to rent studio space for rehearsals and remaining artist stipends (partially funded by the OCA grant).

Thank you for considering, any support is greatly appreciated!

About "In This House":

“In This House” is a contemporary dance work that is loosely inspired by Ibsen's play, “A Doll’s House” and Laura Kieler's (A friend of Ibsen) personal tragedies that inspired his writing of this play. This piece explores themes of family structures, gender roles, and materialism through a queer lens.

"In This House" features contemporary dance choreography by Meaghan Novoa in collaboration with dancers Charray Helton, Isa Newport, Faith Fidgeon, Charlie Baker, Kiera O'Reilly, and AK Bayer as well as original music composed by Dan Carey Bailey, costumes by PhaeMonae Brooks, and video art projection by Sean Dahlman.

UPDATE 5/3: I just learned that I received a grant from South Arts that covers some of the remaining costs of the production including stipends for dancers (who are paid hourly for rehearsals and will receive a stipend for performances as well) and costs of studio rental for rehearsals. I’ve adjusted the goal of this fundraiser accordingly. We are so close to fully funding this work where I won’t have to cover any production costs out of my own pocket. Any funds raised after our goal is completed will be split between all artistic collaborators including the composer, costume designer, choreographer, visual art collaborator, and the 6 dancers performing the work.
