Help us fund Bianca's Italian Greyhound surgery

As many of my wife Jen's and my dear friends and family know we are a dog loving family. We’ve had 11 dogs to date since the early '90s, and six have been Italian greyhounds. Well, recently we became aware of two special-needs rescue dogs that we could not let get put down. Please meet Bianca Biscotti (the taller one) and Sofia Dulce,

3 1/2 month old Italian Greyhounds. They came from a breeder in Tennessee that was going to put them down. The rescue place in NJ had a hard time placing them. We of course decided to take them sight unseen with the thought that we would take care of any immediate and future care.

Bianca‘s on the right and as you can see her left front leg is not well and she cannot walk on it. An orthopedist surgeon visit on Wednesday says it will be $4,700-6,400+ for the surgery needed to fix her left arm fracture (see attached images showing the estimate and x-rays from a great pet hospital). The injury happened recently it appears and the fix is not easy on such a delicate toy breed.

Sofia on the left, the littler one, has grade 4 patella luxation issues on both her back legs and will need corrective surgery next year. Such will run between $8,000-$9000 total. We're addressing her situation later. In the old days I would’ve written a check for both pups easily (which we did many times for rescue pups with needs), but that’s not the case anymore unfortunatley. So while we anticipated that it would cost us thousands of dollars to take care of these darling girls, but not thinking to this extent for Bianca's surgery. Her surgery is set for this coming week. She also may need patella luxation surgery down the road as well.

So why this GoFundMe for Bianca's potential $6,000+ surgery? I asked the same thing. However, one of my daughter's said the other day "hey dad, you've been so kind in helping other animals from folks you've known or not known and I think many people you know or don't know would want to do the same if they knew the need for Bianca." Smart kid.

So whatever you can do to help fund the surgery for Bianca we will sincerely appreciate it... and moreso Bianca will deeply appreciate such as she’ll have a nice long life with the Ahrs. All of our Italian greyhounds to date have lived to at least 16, we want these darling girls to have the same future. They truly are part of our family.
