Help us fund MAOMI & DAIDAI`s documentary

Donation protected
Hi, I am Judit Olah, the director of the film. My team and I have been working on this documentary for a couple of years now and we are doing everything we can to get this film done. Now we seek your help in financing the project.

Watch our TRAILER:

I met Maomi about 5 years ago. I was introduced to her by her son, Gragrai, who I already knew for a long time. Graigrai has been living in Budapest for many years already, and he was someone that people knew in town. He was taller, he was blonder and he smiled more often than anyone else. I once asked him about his mother and this is when Pandora's box opened. It turned out that they have an amazing life story, that they have a huge amount of Super8 material, and that they are still living an extremely interesting life. I was lucky enough to gain their trust and start our joint journey.

What's the film about?

When they were young, Maomi and Daidai defied social norms, traveled across the world, and lived in a polyamorous relationship. Now in their mid 80s, they are still rebelling in their own special way, now fighting against time. Despite their age, health and financial struggles, they still want to live life to its fullest -creating art, meeting friends, dancing, and traveling.

Even though they have no regrets of living a life outside of societal expectations, their life choices impact their present lives and those of their children. They want to remain free, but there are down-to-earth issues they must face. Should life end securely or freely? In a hospital or on a dance floor?

We not only follow them now while moving countries and facing hospitalization, but also delve into their past through amazing archive material to understand the roots of their remarkable lives.

This film explores the resilience of free spirits confronted with life's inevitable challenges.

WHAT'S IN FOR YOU?

First and foremost: our heartfelt thanks! With your support you will be part of the journey of the release of this film and you will receive regular updates as the projcet develops. To avoid having to pay 19% VAT taxes on everything here in Germany we unfortunately can't offer you any value in return (but our eternal gratitude) but we will tell you how the project evolves, where the film will be released and where you'll be able to watch it once it's on a Video on Demand Platform. So if you help us get this film done, we make sure that you can find the movie at an online streaming service.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Honestly, we don't know. It really depends on how fast we can fund this movie but documentaries take their time! So bear with us, we will keep you updated on the way. But we are convinced we'll get there. And we've manage to get other films done, so we have some expertise.

Thank you for supporting us!!
