Help us fund the first Traditional Chapel in Scotland
Donation protected
“Lord, let Glasgow flourish through the preaching of thy word and the praising thy name.”
Prayer of St. Mungo
Please help the faithful in Scotland to purchase a chapel. We currently have no regular meeting place and are at the mercy of local schools and halls. Indeed, there is no sedevacantist chapel in the whole of Scotland.
We need YOUR help to buy this former Church ( see link at end.). The building is currently on sale and a closing date for offers is imminent with the final sale price likely to be in excess of £200k. As you can see from the link for the property, it is perfect for our needs for a chapel and a school.
Our community began simply from one family (the story of which can be heard here. It was from these humble beginnings and by the grace of God, He called me to the priesthood and to return to Scotland in these faithless times to minister to the people of this land. He also called my sister, Sister Veronica to the religious life with the CMD sisters.
Why this building? This building is significant for a number of reasons….it was by a miracle from God that our family left the Mormon Church (this very building which will now be sold!) to convert to the true faith. It will also signify a return to the true Faith, be a beacon of light, and the establishment of a truly Catholic community.
We have gone from infrequent sacraments and never a Sunday Mass to daily Masses, missions throughout the UK, catechism classes, and most especially this coming January, a school for the growing congregation. As I reminded the faithful in a recent sermon, let us now recall that the blood of saints flows in our veins.
We are not a wealthy group of people, but we are rich in the faith. We have 8 families, 5 individuals, 22 children, and several families desperately trying to move to be closer to the sacraments. We are doing what we can to raise funds, such as producing and selling Liturgical Calendars for the UK, reprinting a book on the life of Blessed John Ogilvie, making sacrifices and prayers etc. but the reality is we need your help.
Time will be against us as we expect this property will sell quickly so we would like to have as much money together as we can to make an offer for it. As I live from the Altar, my income itself is not sufficient for a loan or mortgage.
Please, in your charity, if you can help financially, any donation will be gratefully received and if you are unable to contribute financially, then please join us in our prayers and sacrifices.
If we are unable to buy this specific building, any donations will remain in the church building fund for the purchase of another property, as and when God provides.
I feel very much about this land as Bl. John Ogilvie did when he, as a priest, returned to Scotland knowing that he came at a time when Catholics were few and he, himself, would face death…
“I hope to come to Glasgow again, and to do more good in it. If all the hairs of mine head were priests they should all come into the kingdom.” Bl. John Ogilvie
St. Andrew Patron Saint of Scotland and St. Margaret of Scotland, pray for us.
If making a donation, please ensure to set the Go Fund me tip to £0.
