As part of our final year assessment at Sheffield Hallam University we have been assigned to put on an event to raise money for Cavendish Cancer Care. To finance the event we have planned several fundraising activities which will be revealed shortly. Any donations made on this page will go towards the running costs of the event. The profits made at our event and any surplus from this page will go directly to the charity. Any donations are greatly appreciated by the team and the charity.
About Cavendish Cancer Care
Cavendish Cancer Care is a local Sheffield charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with cancer and their loved ones in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire. They work alongside the NHS offering patients and their families professional counselling and therapy that complements and supports medical treatment to help alleviate both the emotional strain of cancer, and the physical side effects of the illness and its treatment. The services offered are 100% free of charge and are tailored to each individual’s needs.
Although Cavendish Cancer Care’s work is integrated with that of the NHS, the charity is independent and the funding received by the government only contributes to a small percentage (4%) of the running costs. The charity is therefore reliant on the generosity of the public to fundraise and make donations to keep their doors open.
