Help us get back to helping our community.
Hi! My name is Julie Eisler and I volunteer as Treasurer for It Takes A Village in Listowel ON.
In the early morning hours on Sunday, April 20th, our place of business was broken into. They smashed the front door, drilled out the back door lock and forced their way in with a crowbar into the office. There they found the locked safe that contained some cash and a few other things like bus passes that are now expired. While the landlord has insurance for this damage, we have the bare minimum of liability insurance. Since we are a non-profit (working on the charitable status) we try to keep the bills to the least amount as possible.
Our mission at ITAV, is to ensure each community member is seen, heard and included. We work on a point system for "purchasing" clothes, small household items, hygiene products and so much more. During the summer, we provide lunch to school aged kids, who might otherwise go without food all day. So many amazing things happen at the Village, we need to open our doors again.
This is where I'm asking for any amount you could spare. I know everyone is struggling, times are tough, as we see by the amount of patrons coming into the Village on a weekly basis. Any amount you could spare, would be used to help us gain more security for our hard earned fundraising money, the monetary donations from our fabulous community members. Anything left over would then be used to help secure our office, with possibly the purchase of a stationary safe.
Again, anything is appreciated and every share, is wonderful. We are extremely grateful for our wonderful community, the beautiful diversifies that make up this community, without them, we wouldn't be able to help as many members of this community as we do.
Community. Stronger Together.
Thank you so much for reading ❤️
