URGENT HELP FOR CANDACE WITH DOWNPAYMENT & MOVING COST

OUR NIEGHBOR CANDACE IS HOMELESS & BATTLING ALS!!!.
I'm fundraising to help my friend Candace, a life-long Moorestown resident. Candace has been living with a rare form of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) since she was 19 and she is now facing HOMELESSNESS. Listen to her inspiring life story on the you tube video at the link farther below.
When COVID 19 stopped the world, it also stopped Candace’s income. She used up all her savings to support her family as a single, disabled mom.
Despite being wheelchair bound, she resumed work in 2023 but she has been unable to find full-time employment. Her part time employment resulted in the cancellation of her SS Disability benefits.
A month ago, Candace learned that her landlord is selling the handicap-accessible home she rents, and she needs to find a new accessible place to live by the END OF JULY - mid-August at the very latest. But... we've been unable to locate any affordable, accessible rentals anywhere in our area.
We are hoping that--through the kindness and generosity of community members and strangers --we can raise enough money for a down payment on a handicap-accessible 4 bedroom home that Candace can call her own. She’ll need temporary housing until a suitable home can be found, or at least, another accessible rental. How wonderful it would then be for her to not have to worry about moving again.
Despite facing eviction and the daily challenges of her condition, Candace volunteers on town committees, participates as a member of the Kindness Coalition, inspired a QUIET ZONE for the 2024 July 4th Parade, and participated actively in Disabilities Pride Month in July. She was awarded the first proclamation in her town for ALS Awareness month in May 2023 and again in 2024. A desire to touch a Chinese dragon had her reach out to the Asian community. Moorestown's first 2 week Lunar New Year celebration emerged from those conversations, hosted by Perkins Center for the Arts. Another dream was realized. Candace traveled to Washington DC this spring to advocate for others struggling with ALS and she is a volunteer in her church community.
Any amount of support helps. If you're not able to help financially, here are some other ways you can make a difference: 1) please help by spreading the word, 2) sharing your good ideas and connections, and/or 3) sharing this post and Go Fund Me link, through text, email, Facebook and word of mouth.
Thank you for your caring and partnership. Here's that YouTube link:
