Help us get Kelly the surgery she needs!
Hello, my name is Alyssa, and I am using the following GoFundMe to help raise money for my mom to have a life-saving surgery.
My mother's name is Kelly, and years ago she underwent surgery to correct 4 different internal organs with a material called MESH. For the past 2 years, this "corrective" surgery has caused her much pain and torture physically and mentally.
****Recent Update*****
My mom was scheduled to have surgery in June but that now has been moved to the end of March due to her declining condition.

After many appointments and procedures, we have found out the MESH is eroding inside of her. The MESH is currently embedded and eroding through her internal organs in her pelvic area, causing an autoimmune disorder. My mom experiences debilitating flare-ups weekly that cause her body temperature to dangerously drop and has caused her to lose 87 pounds. Before this came about, she was healthy and able to work.
Just before Christmas, we almost lost my mom to a flare-up that caused her to go septic. That was one of the scariest times of our lives.
For the past two years, we have searched for specialists across Michigan to help, but they have all refused to remove the MESH with surgery. They've deemed it too risky for them to do. With much determination, my father found a five-star surgeon in Atlanta, GA. Dr. John Mikilos is a specialist in this type of surgery and after reviewing mom's files and having several video appointments, he has accepted to do the procedure. This surgery requires money down to perform.
My mom is 52 years old, married for 32 years, mother of 2, and aspires to be a grandmother one day. She has a special needs son that relies on her daily for his basic needs. We are asking for your help and support to help pay for the funds of not only the surgery, but for gas, food, and lodging for my dad and brother if we can get this surgery to happen. This would be a life saving surgery for her.
