Our Little Milanna-Mays Story

Milanna was longed for, wanted and a long time coming for her mummy and daddy after multiple miscarriage heartbreak, she is Reanna & Malakys light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Milanna was a normal, happy, healthy baby until 7th January when our worlds were turned upside down. She was taken to hospital having seizures and was put into intensive care for her little body to rest and this was the start of what would be a very long road.

Milanna was diagnosed with epilepsy but continued to have fits despite medication which meant further hospital stays and more tests for Milanna, one of these tests being a genetic test which would take a few months to return with results.

Fast Forward to 22nd February

Another visit for an appointment at QMC. This is where our worlds came crashing down as the doctors told us our precious Milanna has Mitochondrial Disease NARS 2 Mutation. For those that are unfamiliar with it, it is a regressive disease that is life limiting. Our girl will eventually loose her hearing and sight.

So this is where the gloves come off, we pull out all the stops and give it everything we’ve got.

There is a hospital in Boston, America which specialises in this disease and our hope is to get Milanna there to receive treatment to prolong her life and keep her as the Milanna we all know and love.

As the disease takes over, Milanna will loose her hearing and sight, therefore any excess raised over the amount needed for America will be used for memory making. So here’s to making the rest of her life, the best of her life.

Times are tough for everyone financially, but nothing is tougher than the situation we find ourselves in today. We appreciate any donation big or small.
