Medical help for our Turkey Dogs needed!
**DEVASTATING NEWS FOR INTERNATIONAL RESCUE & URGENT REQUEST FOR DONATIONS**
PLEASE HELP US GET AS MANY DOGS OUT OF TURKEY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!
The CDC has issued a statement saying that it will be suspending the importation of dogs from 113 countries effective as of July 14th. The suspension stems from various rescue groups attempting to import dogs with inadequate or incorrect rabies vaccination certificates from what the CDC considers high-risk countries. Turkey is included, and we need your help now more than ever! The suspension may last a year or longer while the CDC monitors the situation.
To date, SEVA GRREAT has worked with our rescue partners to save 120 goldens from Turkey. We follow all CDC and USDA guidelines, including obtaining an import permit and customs clearance. There are still many goldens ready and waiting to come over, and we want to help as many as possible before the ban takes effect. Our rescue partners are frantically working to find flight volunteers, and we have 2 flights tentatively scheduled for late June and early July. We have a very tight timeline to help as many as possible.
Our hearts are broken knowing that the CDC ban will result in the loss of thousands of innocent lives. But SEVA and the international rescue community will do all we can to help.
Funds raised will not only help us bring goldens over immediately but will also be used to support our rescue partners caring for the additional dogs that have to wait out the ban. The need will be ongoing, so your donations are greatly appreciated!
