Help me get my mom back. My kids really

Miss their Gammy, and I miss my mama. They don’t quite understand why we haven’t seen as much of her in the last couple years, but it has been the best for my mental health to set up these important boundaries.

My mom (Kelly) has been struggling with alcoholism for honestly as long as I can remember. I mourn the loss of her everyday even though she’s right here. There have even been a few times where I thought we’d lose her for real.

Fast forward to this fall and she has had an epiphany and has decided to go away for treatment. We are SO proud of her. She has been off work for about a month, and will continue to be off work for atleast six weeks, but likely longer until her mental health and well-being is stable enough to resume a normal routine. She leaves for treatment next week.

Being on unemployment combined with the high cost of her treatment centre/travel expenses has put her in a very tight financial position and I would love nothing more than to be able to take that extra stress off her shoulders while she focuses on getting better, so we can have her back ❤️
