Help us get our publishing press up and running

In 2021, I began to realise my dreams of publishing. I became a published author (There’s a Tale to This City) and decided to continue this path by starting my own independent publishing press — Back Shed Press— so that I can continue to publish my works, and the works of other creatives from Melbourne. I’m gathering a team of like-minded individuals to join me on this journey.

Back Shed Press is for those who have struggled to be seen by traditional publishers — a chance for creators to get their foot in the door. We want to storm Melbourne with a new movement of edgy, experimental writing shaped by the 21st century. We want the literary revolution we’ve been dreaming of.

Someday, we’d love to have an office in the CBD to operate publishing processes from, but that day is a long while away.

It’s going to be a slow journey, mostly because of our lack of funding (thanks to the state of Arts funding in Australia).
