Help us buy the TROMhome

In short:

This is Tio and Sasha. And we will soon have a TROMhome https://tromhome.com/

For the past 2 years we've been renting the same house with my (Tio) parents to try and save money for a motorhome. We have to move out of the house in December but we will buy a motorhome to live full time in it.

We have most of the money for the motorhome, but not enough to buy it and also put some money into it. So if anyone can help it would be fantastic!

We create a lot of trade-free stuff between the two of us, so the help goes indirectly to the projects/content we create as well.

We will also make videos about our TROMhome experience - tips about how to live in a motorhome or in general in this minimalist way. We want to go chase some eclipses and dark skies, or go to some cool nature places, eventually volunteer for all sorts of projects, create events and so forth, and share the experience with everyone.

A few more details:

Since we both provide whatever we do for free, we've always been quite broke. Luckily for the past 2 years we managed to save some money in order to buy a motorhome. It is mainly thanks to the job Sasha had and some donations I got from TROM. My parents also helped us financially a little bit.

In theory we should have the money to buy the motorhome at the end of this year, but that would mean no money for anything else: insurance, gas, solar panels, repairs, and overall survival. That would be a bit insane. Therefore we need a bit of financial help.

Costs of a motorhome.

A good second-hand motorhome that's around 20-24 years old is anywhere from 19.000 to 22.000 Euros. It is what we can afford. We have actively looked for one for the past year and are seeing a few these weeks. But since these motorhomes will be quite old we will have to invest some money into maintenance and repairs. Plus have some saved money for emergency purposes.

Therefore the total cost of the motorhome with all of what is needed should be around 25.000-26.000 Euros. We hope not more.

This is also for TROM.

It is my dream to be able to get out of my room and visit new places, see new faces, while at the same time focus on TROM. To have a comfortable place from where I can do my work. And a motorhome is the perfect solution for now. Powered by the Sun, with a good internet connection, and a minimum amount of money needed since we do not have to pay for rent or electricity, I hope to make this work.

The first few months it will be a lot about us getting used to it, but after that we would love to organize some events around TROM and the trade-free idea; or volunteer, talk to others, and overall become a mobile vessel for TROM. Literally.

We may also post on Youtube in order to reach more people, but Peertube will always be a priority. We want to show to others that these trade-free platforms are perfectly usable and sane, unlike the ad-platforms that everyone use.
