Help us get to Rockhampton to see Polly before she passes.

Last week Lukes mother Polly had a catastrophic allergic reaction to an antibiotic she was given to treat a simple chest infection. The allergic reaction caused Pollys heart to stop 3 times in less than an hour and she was without a heart beat for 30-40 minutes while the hospital worked to keep her alive. She was flown from Emerald hospital to Rockhampton ICU by helicopter. We have been informed today that due to how long she was without a heartbeat for that her brain has suffered severe swelling and that the doctors do not see a viable route to recovery for her. She is currently on life support and will be assessed again tomorrow, but at that point the decision will be made to turn off supportive care at some stage this weekend. Our current situation means that we do not have the funds to get to Polly in time. We have exhausted every option we have. We have applied for an early release on super, and also asked them to expedite the application however the turn around on the expedited case is still 1-3 business days. We did not hear from them today so we will not hear until it is already too late. We were gifted $1000 by a kind friend however we still need additional funds to be able to access even one way tickets. Return tickets are between the $2500 to $3000 range. Weekend airfares are quite high. We are going to fly to brisbane and then catch a train to rockhampton, this will slow us down but it will keep costs lower. The amount is also taking into consideration the costs for accommodation and transport expenses if they are required. It will also assist in paying rent if required as we do not know how long we will need to stay for and I only have 1 weeks annual leave available to cover normal household costs. Times are really hard right now, so I understand people may not be able to help, but if you could consider sharing the go fund me we would really appreciate that. If we are not able to get the funds by this weekend we will remove the gofundme and simply wait for the super to be assessed, but we will likely not get the chance to say goodbye.
